So i was perusing the stories on The Weblist like I do every morning as I drink my coffee, and I decided to watch some of the youtube videos. I normally skip over them cause they’re almost always garbage. And unfortunately, today was no different. The Video that annoyed me to the point where I decided to write this blog was is part of some on going series by some blonde chick called “Hot for Words”… in which she tries to prove how sexy geeks are. Here’s my review for her video.

Well, first… she’s sitting in front of a bed? couch?.. on the floor with zebra print pillows in the bg. Well, as a geek, and I’m sure most geeks can attest… most geeks keep our computers on our desks. It’s just easier on our carpel tunnel syndrome. But I’m going to guess that she does this on purpose because she’s trying to exuded a certain sexuality.

Secondly, she’s wearing this unbelievably low cut shirt w/ some sort of push up bra. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a little cleavage here and there. But this is pretty tasteless. Already she’s undermining her abilities to use her brain to keep her audiences attention span by resorting to selling this video w/ boobs.

Next, before getting into the point of this episode or whatever it’s called. She plugs her watchers to vote for her as Sexiest Geek of 2007. And she actually waits! Twirling her hair like a bimbo for you to go and vote. Okkkay. Now to the point. The origins of the word geek? I could find a more cohesive answer after 3 mins on Google. Then, she puts on these glasses… and this? this is the proof that she offers that she’s a geek? I’ve seen those glasses on all sorts of campy celebs. Those glasses are not geek. OK, ok. I’m trying to find some positive things here, I swear.. and failing..

Lastly, when she assigns the “homework” and she asks the questions would you rather be classified as a geek? she shows a picture of herself in a tight pink corset bra thingie. Geeks don’t generally walk around in tight pink corset thingies. Anyone can make a video and post it in youtube… where is your cred? where do you prove your geekiness? The video is decently edited, i’ll give her that but it’s sad when the best part of this video is the “clicks and beeps” and the “typing sounds” half way through. She certainly knows how to plug herself tho… for a 5 min video, she plugs herself more than having actual content. Now, the rest of her videos may be better, but this has left me w/ no desire to find out. She asked me to rate it? Can i give a negative score?
