The magnificent ancient city of pyramids at Caral in Peru hit the headlines in 2001. The site is a thousand years older than the earliest known civilisation in the Americas and, at 2,627 BC, is as old as the pyramids of Egypt. Many now believe it is the fabled missing link of archaeology – a ‘mother city’. If so, then these extraordinary findings could finally answer one of the great questions of archaeology: why did humans become civilised? A lot has been discussed since this was put out. From Seattle Times (December 23, 2004): “A Peruvian site previously reported as the oldest city in the Americas actually is a much larger complex of as many as 20 cities with huge pyramids and sunken plazas sprawled over three river valleys, researchers report.” Construction began in 3000 B.C (300-400 years before the people of Kemet/Egypt began the Pyramid of Djoser). These cities flourished peacefully for more than 1,200 years.

No signs of warfare… no signs of sacrifice. Just people, working and living peacefully.

Where am I going?

Well, no where really, but that’s ok.

Life in the new house is treating me fantastic. I’ve gone from living in a little bachelors pad eating take out frequently to cooking proper meals for my hunny and I 5 nights a week. My two exceptions being Tuesday Lost nights (which are almost over omggggggg) with my mummy, and Crochet Club with Joules on Thursday. We got a new dining room table (<3 UsedVictoria), and sold our old little one, so now our place is perfect. (Well almost, Andy would say it won’t be perfect till he gets his new telle he’s been eyeing for the last few years) We paid our property taxes last week and oh my goodness, being a home owner sure ain’t cheap!

I’ve been trying to get back into crocheting since my long hiatus after Christmas and packing etc. Everyone and their mum’s are telling me to get working on Twin Love. And I want to! But there’s another component of that I’m waiting for, *cough The other TWIN cough* to really get going. I don’t want to do it all on my own.

Made a couple cute guys, and some slippers. I’ve been working on some baby things too as everyone is having babies! But I forgot to take pics of some of the cute little items I’ve already gifted.

This is Cactalina! Isn’t she cute? I want to sit around all day and make cactus gardens.

And this is my wee little Jelly overlord! Wah!

And these are my feeties.

The picture was taken at night with some lamp light so it doesn’t do the pretty green wool justice. They’re quite cozy!

Other than living the domestic life, (baking banana muffins included!), and crafting, I’m just chilling, reading the news obsessively and enjoying every minute of life i can. I know I’ve neglected this blog a bit, I’ve been posting more frequently in my political blog, but I’ll keep at it. I always do!

Oh, and that reminds me. I went to a book reading a few weeks back and ran into an old friend from way back. She introduced me to her brother who said something like, “Oh! The author of Crumpled Paper!” . His daughter and him used to be fans I’ve been wanting to get back into drawing and now that I’m not living out of my purse I have no excuse! Now I just have to remember how to draw

Hope life is treating you all well too!

I knew he wanted a new television. He’s been talking about wanting a new TV for soooo long.

So this is what I gave him

Tee hee!

I’ve got lots to blog about and no time in which to blog. Life is marvelously busy and exciting and eclectic!

I’m settling into my new place just fine and dandy too! It’s the nicest home I’ve ever lived in! ./beams

Also in the spirit of this new beginning, I decided it was past time to re-pot some of my lovely plants. Andy found a crazy good sale on glazed clay pots, (5.99 down from 39.99!!!!), so i purchased a few and re-planted my plants with some fresh soil. In just a few days they’re already shown new growth. I think they’re happy with their new home too!

Any who, that’s all the time I have for now! Hope you’re all having a most lovely week!

Peace <3

ps. The table in the above picture is something I made in Gr. 10 wood work class! I should have been a carpenter

I started this post yesterday but then subsequently had a melt down when using Andy’s net book to post it. 1

So Happy Love day! I hope you all told someone you care about how special they are to you.

I’ve been reading people’s blogs and hearing comments of the negative persuasion in regards to V-day. But I look at it this way; I never get flowers any other random day of the year. So if it takes one specific day to make this happen, then I’m alright with that.

My hunnyb was most his most romantic yet. 2 On Friday, he had flowers and the cutest little teddy bear (see below) delivered to my work early in the morning so that when I arrived at my office they’d be there. However!!!! I was tragically stricken with a migraine that morning so I didn’t go into work. Now, let me tell you, i neeeeevvver call in sick to work. I think in my 2 years at this particular job I’ve called in maybe 2, 3 times tops? That makes my absence on this day all the more hilarious to me. I emailed my Andy later that morning to let him know I had stayed home and set off a panic attack for him that I was completely oblivious too. He had to call the floral company and have them pick up the flowers and deliver it to my house. But because of my headache, I was sleeping when they tried to deliver them. They didn’t buzz my apt for some reason and just knocked lightly, so I slept right through it. The second time they tried to deliver them i was in the shower! But this time, the person thought to call me on my cell and tell me they’ve been trying to deliver something. (Wish they had called the first time!) So they finally got delivered at around 4:30 pm at which time I emailed Andy and gushed over how sweet and fantastic he is. ./swoon He, of course, had been waiting all day worrying and waiting to hear that I’d received them. Poor guy !

So thank you my darling Andy for my most beautiful flowers!

And for my new adorable friend !

Isn’t he super cute? Why am i addicted to cute things? I just don’t know.

PS. In case you’re wondering why I’ve been a little quiet in this blog, it’s because I’ve been posting a little obsessively at my Think blog. If you’re into news and/or ideas about what’s going on in the world today, be sure to check it out.

It has been raining since before I woke up. The skies are cold and grey. But in my peripheral vision streams of light, made of strawberry lemonade, kiwis and sunshine, bounce off each other… creating a warm glow. This beautiful scarf was be-gifted to me from the Lovely Erin of La Caotica. She has long taken residence in my mind, as one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met, online or offline. Thank you Erin.

Mini Site Update

I wanted to keep track of The Quote Book pages on a separate page, but the plugin I was using was all messed up. It worked about 50% of the time, but I had been too lazy to change it until now. I know I know, bad Christine!

So I set out on a quest to find a different gallery plug in and I found this! 1 I was worried it might be a little slow, but so far I haven’t had any problems loading images.

I’m in the process of changing over the doodles, and I might think about making one for the comics too to make them easier to stream.

The interface with this plug-in is really quite nice as well. Load of options to customize, but I couldn’t see a way to upload multiple images at once? 2

Now that I’ve found a nice working alternative, i need to do an over hall of my Twin Love site. I’ve neglected it this year despite the fact that I keep coming up with fun new ideas! I’m going to force myself to do as much work as I can before I move instead of letting my move be an excuse to put it off. I find myself saying, Oh, i’ll start that after the move is over. But why not now? Hmm!?

Constant Vigilance!!

Ps. Listening to Lady Gaga. Love her.
