These D6′s are killing me.

I played two games of Yahtzee last night and lost them both.¹ I was playing w/ my mum and Joules and it had taken hours and hours of pestering over the last few days to get them to agree.  I love playing games. I love card games, and Yahtzee, and scrabble and board games.  You have it, I’ll play it. It’s a great way to be active w/o actually doing anything.  I guess what I mean by that is that it stimulates the brain.  So much of my time at my mum’s house is spent in her rocking chair watching stuff on the telle or talking.  And that’s ok when we have something specific to watch² but when there’s nothing on I’d rather be doing something that stimulates my brain.  And nothing fires me up more than a good old game of Yahtzee.

What sparked this particular game of yahtzee was my new D&D dice I purchased.  Not only did I get the usual D12, D10’s and so forth, I bought a bunch of D6’s as well. ³ They’re a lovely shade of forest green w/ copper colored indents and rounded corners. They felt so great in my hands.  I wanted to roll them all night long…

However! The dice obviously had its own theories about what they wanted to do. And that didn’t include rolling very well in a game of yahtzee. All of us had a pretty terrible first game. My mum in particular was cursing the dice for all they’re worth⁴ and after that first horrible game we decided to have one more and this time, using our regular yahtzee dice.  And boy let me tell you, the dice were on fire! Large Straights, small straights, 4 of a kind! It was intense ><   Collectively, we rolled 5 yahtzees in that game.  Joules got three of them, but one of them didn’t count as it wasn’t her turn and she was rolling the dice for kicks just to see.

Any who! In conclusion, D&D dice are clearly for killing monsters with fireballs and magic missiles. No yahtzee allowed.⁵ Now if only this day would go faster, green beer awaits!!!!! Happy St. Patty’s everyone
